While working at Naver and Kakao, I received a lot of help from the startup ecosystem in Korea, and I would like to repay the grateful experience by contributing to the development of the startup ecosystem through BASS Ventures.
Entrepreneurship is like a series of endless and difficult problem-solving. In the journey of these entrepreneurs, we want to provide practical help to early startups of this era based on the experience, capabilities, and networks of management who have previously gone through the process of entrepreneurship and problem-solving, as well as simple financial support.
If large domestic corporations were products of a specific stage of development in Korea, now is the era of startups, and I hope that this will be of some help to early entrepreneurs in solving the problems of our time in a creative way that fits our times.
Also, we hope that this mindset of ours will not be limited to BASS Ventures or our portfolio companies, but that new and excellent people we have met in this process will take the lead in the future and create a virtuous cycle ecosystem that will provide permanent assistance.
Having worked at Naver and Kakao , I received enormous support from Korea's startup ecosystem . Now, through BASS Ventures , I hope to give back by contributing to the growth and development of that very ecosystem that once supported me.
Starting a company is an endless series of complex and difficult problem-solving challenges. At BASS Ventures , we aim to go beyond financial investment by leveraging the experience, expertise, and network of our leadership team—who have firsthand experience in founding companies and overcoming obstacles. Our goal is to provide practical and meaningful support to early-stage startups in this era.
If Korea's conglomerates were the driving force behind a specific stage of the nation's development , then today, we are undoubtedly in the era of startups . We hope to play a role—however small—in empowering early-stage founders to tackle the challenges of our time with innovative, era-defining solutions .
Moreover, we aspire for this mindset to extend beyond BASS Ventures and our portfolio companies —so that the brilliant individuals we meet along this journey will take the lead and build a self-sustaining, virtuous ecosystem that continues to support future generations of entrepreneurs.
